How is the Prime Minister of Australia chosen?
- By a vote of all members of Parliament
- By a direct national vote of the people
- By the Governor-General based on a personal choice
- As the leader of the party or coalition with majority support in the House of Representatives
Why this is the correct answer
Australia does not directly elect its Prime Minister. Instead, voters elect members of the House of Representatives, and the leader of whichever party or coalition commands majority support in that chamber becomes Prime Minister.
